I was born in Brooklyn, New York but grew up on the Jersey Shore. I have been happily married to my college sweetheart, Lester. I have two children: Karen, a Media Specialist for the Freehold Boro School District, which is located in New Jersey, and Erik, who is a Special Olympics athlete. The third child, albeit very furry, is our dog, Katie Scarlett O’Hara. I am the proud Grandmother of Steven, Rachel, and Dylan.
I have always been a part of synagogue life. My parents were founding members of Temple Shalom in Matawan, New Jersey, where my father served as Principal of the Religious School. I was a Madracha in the school during my teenage years.
I have been an active member of the Jewish Educator’s Assembly of United Synagogue. The group is comprised of educators of supplemental schools and day schools. I attend the yearly conference which enables me to meet Jewish Educators from around the country, share ideas, and keep abreast of the latest technological advances for Jewish Education. I was privileged to serve on the United Synagogue Education Committee.
I have so much to impart to our students in my role as Youth and Family Programming Director. I am looking forward to sharing my expertise and love of Judaism with not only our children, but with the congregation as well. I am thrilled to be a part of this warm and caring community.
